13th June 2008. Initially tastes quite medicinal. After a little palate adjustment this smooths out. Semi dry finish. The spice ultimately domniates but doesn’t completely overpower.

Bottle in NH. Pours clear, red-gold with a fine, creamy tan head. The nose holds pleasant wintery spices, all nutmeg and cinnamon, some bready malts, suggestions of pumpkin. Medium sweet flavor with further bread and nutmeg, faint leafy bitterness, a bit of spicy cinnamon. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with still more nutmeg and cinnamon, some ginger bread, lightly toasted brown bread. Very tasty. A solid spiced winter beer.
