Tap at the Repub. From notes. : Pour is a slightly hazy dark brown with some muddy looking highlights, light brown/tan head that fades rather quickly but leaves nice lacing. Aroma is fairly standard Belgian yeast notes, a bit of clove spice, some banana bread character. Taste is much the same, but with the presence of an unexpected roast and chocolaty competent in the background, as well as a nice nutty touch as well, all which blend nicely with the same spice and yeast characteristics from the aroma. Growler thanks to some kind soul at RBWG. Pours a dark brown/red color with a medium white head. A sweet fruity, yeasty nose, rich reminds me of Rochefort somewhat. A rich toasted malt flavor, some dark fruit, dry, some heat. Very nice.

poured into the glass with a nice dark brown color, no haze at all with a nice Red/Amber highlight when the light shines through. 2 fingers of white foam head that fall into a nice thick lacing on the side of the glass with a film over the top.
Smell is strong of banana with hints of chocolate, caramel, and some soft leather and tobacco notes. banana was a bit strong compared to the rest.
Taste - the front end has some apricot, raisin, and cherry. very clean on the flavor, a bit of bruised apple and bruised banana as well. I caught a decent amount of bitterness to balance the beer out. some grain taste with powdered cocoa on the ends.
the flavor hits very nicely on the onset but settles out over the middle. the finish is good and lingers on the tongue. carbonation was a bit fizzy (like forced CO2) where I might like it to be a bit more creamy.

Nice label--the first that I’ve seen to integrate the interior of an abbey church. Decent beer, with a big bubblegum flavor, plenty of fruit, some fresh and some dried, and warming into a drinkable American spin on a Belgian. Pours a burnt orange with lacing. Aromas are big sweet bananas. Similar flavours. Smooth and full bodied. Nice!
