3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours cloudy golden with a fluffy white head. Unfortunately the aromas are a bit one-dimensional, with a strong banana nose, but a hint of bubblegum and alcohol are also present if you swill the glass long enough. A strong banana flavour and bubblegum sweetness, with a bit of malt and herb flavours coming through nearer the end of the mouthful. Highly carbonated, making it a bit unpleasant on the palate in my view. Substantial wheat bier, but the banana aroma and flavour is too dominant to be anything special.
Pours yellow with a small head.
Nose shows some doughy wheat and a bit of banana. Not bad really.
More wheat as flavours but a little weak. Some grainy malt. A bit of spicy hops works well.
Body feels a little light on. Cantabrian (1130) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 9, 2013
Disappointing. If it wasn’t for the clove on the nose, it would get a lower score, as the first whiff reminds me of that of an ocelot’s enclosure. The excessive carbonation is evident on the appearance and it almost jumps through your eyes, after popping out through the nose. Too many flavours, inconsistently shuffled with a suggestion of Weizen Bier, including some lemoney tang and aluminium foil. lisagirl (264) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 16, 2013
poor effort from harringtons, very weak weiss flavours and those that are there are bland and uninteresting. a little wheat, maybe banana, and plenty of water. oh well. ciaranc (1102) - Dublin, IRELAND - OCT 2, 2012
Pours a cloudy gold with a white head which disappears disappointingly quickly. A weiss with no head looks wierd. Big clove and urine on the nose. Taste is better, sharp bitter yeasty notes with a short finish. Not great. deusax (459) - Grenoble, FRANCE - JAN 31, 2012
A pale imitation of german Weizenbier, but I’ve seen worse. in bottle, from Harrington’s brewery

Draft. A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of wheat as well as a lighter note of soap. The flavor is sweet wheaty with lighter notes of malt, citrus, and cloves. Boring. hawthorne00 (3941) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 4, 2010
First 3/4 of the bottle poured completely clear. Took a bit of a swirl to rouse the sediment. Then it’s cloudy orange with a large white head. Nose has lemon zest, white pepper, cloves. Taste is sour and very lemony with some spice notes. No other fruit, no breadiness. Way too lemony. I’d say something’s wrong here, but my wife liked it pretty well. bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 30, 2010
Came across a little sweet but easily drinkable. To me it is not a lot of banana notes, lemon and wheat characters moreso though they are not that dominant either. KapitiCritique (379) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JUN 29, 2010
500 ml bottle
Aroma: yeast and spices (cinnamon or cardamon), hint of apple or pear and possibly some unripened banana;
Appearance: Huge, rocky-foamy, long lasting head, thick, swiss cheese lacing, light yellow hazy colour;
Taste: semi-sweet, a tinge of sourness, not a rounded taste;
Palate: light to medium body, thinnish texture, fizzy carbonation;
Overall: Its a wheat beer, but it is a bit light. Thus, palate would not be over 3/5. So full marks for being what it is advertised to be if perhaps a lighter regional variant. beer4eternity (226) - Tauranga, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 30, 2009
500ml bottle, Best before 4 September 2010. The aroma was off, like my home brew wheat beer gone bad (?acetaldehyde) Tasted sour. There must have been something go wrong with this one. Beer was fresh and storage conditions good. Would have been grateful to have abundant banana aroma and flavour others described. Not brave enough to get another, seems a waste to drain pour and 14000 other beers to rate!
