chinchill (5073) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 13, 2014
330ml bottle from Wanaka, NZ 5.0% ABV bb 19 Nov 2014
Amber with excellent clarity. Pours with an oversized foamy head of moderate duration.
Feel: Light and smooth feel; medium-high but soft carbonation.
Aroma: Mostly coriander, ginger, lemon and orange with a bit of light baked bread in the background. Nice balance with good complexity, albeit lacking much beer character.
Flavor: Less balanced than the aroma with the ginger asserting dominance, but more bready malts too, along with a hint of hops. Lasting aftertaste mostly from the coriander and ginger.

spicy and gingery lager shit. i like the spices and the ginger, but the backbone of the beer is missing entirely. meh. best lager harrington’s has anyway. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 24, 2012
Looks lagerish with good colour and plenty of carbonation. A thin film of coarse bubbles sat on top of the beer. Smells of plenty of ginger and mellow citrus. Loads of fizziness in the mouth and cool flavours. The citrus tang makes itself known in the mouth, not sure about where the coriander is hiding though. Tasty, quenching beer that is unlikely to touch the sides on a hot day or with a spicy curry. Ungstrup (37937) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 30, 2011
Draft. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of ginger, malt, and lemongrass. The flavor is sweet with lighter notes fo malt, ginger, lemongrass, and coriander, leading to a dry spicy finish. konstifik (573) - SWEDEN - JUL 3, 2010
Lots of pickled ginger in this, some coriander and a light citrusy note too, so the spices used in this beer do come through. Goes well with spicy food actually, but I don’t think I could down a whole bottle on my own without food to go with it, the ginger just gets too intense.

500ml bottle. Clear sparkling light gold hue, Small fully diminishing white bubbly head, virtually no lacing. Subtle aromas of shoe leather, earth, tangelo, and floral hops, are mostly overpowered by very strong ginger. Crisp ginger dominates the flavour, moderately sweet with some bitterness in the finish. Long peppery chilli tang after-taste. OK though I would prefer Monteiths Summer Ale over this one. nate2g (1548) - Boomtown!, AUSTRALIA - APR 11, 2009
Bottle. Pours an extremely clear yellow with greenish hues and a tiny white head. Aroma of ginger, melon and coriander. The flavour is ginger, melon and herbs. Watery palate and short bitterness. Peppery finish. It’s pretty much an alcoholic ginger beer. I wouldn’t go back for another one. DuffMan (10456) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 29, 2009
Brassy golden, short-lived white head that leaves no trace. Very dominant fresh ginger aroma and flavour, also orange-rind. Not as excessively sweet as I feared, but still in every way a ginger beer. So if you’re up for a ginger beer then this is quite a good one, but if you expect a lager with some subtle spice character then this will be like a slap to the face. donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 5, 2009
Pours golden, white head. Aromas of ginger and a slight vanilla underneath. Tastes quite like ginger beer with a touch of vanilla. Otherwise its Monteiths Summer. sdriessen (320) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 25, 2009
Aromas are of ginger and lemongrass, some floral and herb notes. Grapefruit is present, with hints of vegetables behind a sweet malt.
Flavours are very herb like - coriander and rosemary. Lots of ginger and lemongrass, and vegetables such as corn.
Has a peppery spice which it leaves on the palate. Hints of a grapefruit bitterness alongside the hoppy bitterness.
A strange summer brew, but so different I like it.
