Maybe this isn’t quite retired yet. Maybe it should be. Hazy golden with a temporary white head that now sits as a patchy film on top of the beer. It smells strongly of grated ginger to the point that it overpowers everything else. The body is watery and carries crystalised ginger with it. Not a beer I’m enormously enamoured with to be fair. Would a curry improve it? Unlikely. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 13, 2014
The head is medium, the body gold. It smells malty, a bit special grain. The taste is sweet, grain. No hops today??? Quite… not my beer. 2 DuffMan (10433) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 12, 2009
Bottle, purchased at Betty’s in Queenstown, presumably brewed for the Mantra Restaurant in Arrowtown. Pours a very pale gold with an average white head of short duration. Sweet ginger candy aroma, much like ginger ale soft drink. The flavour profile is much the same, although light underlying malt accents are there, suggesting a shandy-ish character. Very sweet and light. Finish is quick and sweet. Not my favourite.
