2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Well, it’s OK I suppose. It’s "flat", my term, for a beer that’s supposed to have at least some hop character. Not as much as an IPA, mind you, but definitely, not on par with other pale ales. Too much malt in the background for my taste. Glad I tried it, but wouldn’t repeat.
On-tap into a pint glass... This was suppose to be the best beer they had, probably was but still not saying a whole lot... Pours a totally clear dark orange with notes of copper, looks good. The head is a nice off white, good retention and lace... The aroma is also pretty good, mostly grassy on the front with a hint of caramel, pine hop finish... The taste is decent at first, light toffee and grass. The finish becomes way too bitter, hops are off, reminds me more of an ipa. Not terrible but I wouldn’t have this again unless my prison was Harrison’s and I was sentenced to life without parole.

This one was okay. Aroma of caramel and sweet. Brownish amber color red. Taste is hoppy, slightly sweet, low malt. Will not have again, but I’m not a fan of pale ales anders37 (28526) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAR 8, 2010

amber color, light tan head. nose of grapefruit hops and citrus sweetness. creamy, citrus flavor. medium bodied, moderately bitter. not bad, much better than i expected. a bit too mild overall for my tastes. gws57 (1276) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - JUN 5, 2007
Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Orland Park, Illinois. Clear, dark red pour with an off-white head, a wonderfully hoppy, floral nose. Pronounced hoppiness thorughout, nice and dry with some red grape fruitiness. Clean and excellent. DrnkMcDermott (3215) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - OCT 14, 2005
Draft sampler. There are some hops at work here. A bit pine, grapefruit and even peach (the impression left over from the peach beer.). Malts are a little lacking for what the color suggests, but it does play nice and finish with a decent pale ale flourish.
