appearance: silky black pour, creamy tan head. aroma: roasty coffee, bittersweet dark chocolate, hint of vanilla. taste: semisweet and dry chocolate, vanilla, hint of espresso and chicory. finish: dry, smooth, full but refreshing palate. notes: I don’t care if it is Harry Potter, this was a darn good stout. Draft at the Leaky Cauldron, Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida.

Pours a deep opaque black with off white head. A sweet roasty chocolate cookie aroma. Unite sweet, lightly roasted flavor hints of chocolate cookie and coffee.

Notes: on tap at the Hogs Head Pub, Hogsmead England (aka Universal Studios Hollywood), June ’17.

A bit thin but good. Lots of roasted and toasted notes. An employee mentioned alternating sips of this and butter beer pretty good.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of milk chocolate. It has a medium body with smooth texture and average carbonation. The taste is very sweet from start to finish.

16oz draft served in a plastic cup at The Leaky Cauldron. Pours black with a nice looking tan head. I was completely surprised by how good this was. This was ordered completely expecting some typical theme park swill and I instead totally enjoyed it. More surprising was that the food we ordered with it was even good. Must be some kind of wizard magic in play. Was all excited to order it again the next day at the other Univeral Park Harry world and they didn’t have it! I think this is onl;y available at The Leaky Cauldron. No exaggeration to say that this place was the highlight of our visit to Universal.

Tap. Pours a very dark brown body with a small brown head. The nose is roasty and sweet with some licorice and burnt caramel. The flavor is fairly solid, roasty, little sweetness, some coffee and licorice. Medium bodied and a little clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Decent.

I don’t know what’s harder to admit; that I’m drinking a Harry Potter beer, or that the beer isn’t bad. I feel like they designed this section for folks like me who have something to look forward to in this part of the park. Draft pour pint at Leaky. Pours black with a tan cream foam head. Hints of chocolate on the aroma. Flavor is bold chocolate, mild roast, and a bit of an English bitter finish to it. Ovreally pretty good. I’d like to think there are beer raters in Harry Potter land, or whatever it’s called.

16 oz plastic draft at the Leaky Cauldron at the Harry Potter area of Universal in Orlando, Florida. The pour is deep brown, black with a foamy khaki head that is quite lasting. The aroma is roast, soft caramel, milky all nicely melded and super fresh. The taste is roasty, caramel sweet, milkiness of the nose along with some additional rye spice towards the back. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a mineral soft roast char finish. This reminded me of Bell’s Kalamazoo Stout - it was quite good.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2016 On tap at The Leaky Cauldron. Pours dark with mocha head. Aroma is better as it warms up, with milk chocolate and a good amount of coffee. Taste is sweet with lactose and some cocoa powder bitterness.
