Erzengel (9364) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUL 8, 2014

Koelschtrinker (21371) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 13, 2011
Test vom 15.5.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,9,10,11,9 - 9,25

From tap at Plan B. Pours clear and golden pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and slight cornish. Bitter, cornish, malty and slight hayish. Bitter and smooth malty finish.

[email protected] I’m not a fan of Heller Bock but this one was OK. No sulphur aroma or over ripe apple. Of course there’s some apple in both aroma an flavour but it’s mainly very malty. Still sweet and low hops but balanced.

thewolf (12756) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2010
Tap @ YNWA, Kolding.
Pours softly hazy yellow-golden with a small, staying, frothy, white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, softly citric and a grassy touch. Medium carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Light creamy. Flavour is sweet and malty, light grassy, hay, flowery and softly bitter. Good, even though it’s not my favourite style.

bu11zeye (13139) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUN 23, 2009
(50cl bottle) Pours a clear yellow body with a small off-white head. Aroma of grain, grass, and toasted bread. Flavor of bready malt, toasted grain, light herbal hops, and nuts.

Oakes (18594) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 23, 2009
Pale golden and bright. Big malty nose with lots of fresh bread. Herbal hops help to dry out the big bready malts. Quality bock.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2009 500ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki)
Light grainy aroma, almost lagery. Smooth palate, much more bocky. Taste pleasantly bitter. Very simple and enjoyable. Covers 7% very well.

oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAY 14, 2009
[email protected], Helsinki. Golden colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some breadyness, alcohol and mild notes of grains. Flavour is alcohol, sweet malts, some breadyness as well. mild saltwatery notes.

I have tasted this beer at the brewery, on draught! This is a fantasti!c family-run brewery, some 10 miles east of Bamberg. Good frothy head, dark gold colour, good bitterness, with a touch of sweetness. But bitter finish prevails, but maybe too much taste of alcohol.
