Doughy malt nose with a bit of golden raisins, light toffee and herbal hops. The taste is fairly dry, lightly bitter, with dry caramel, light raisin, and spicy herbal hops. Koelschtrinker (20208) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 21, 2011
Aromatischer Karamellmalzantrunk, deutlich getreidig. 8/9/8/7/9/8

On tap at Byens Kro, København as Hartmann Landbier. Lovely lacing.
Lovely glowing amber. Grain, bread, yeast. Some sourness
Quite heavy. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 21, 2010
Firkin, Brauhaus Schmitz. Pours a slightly hazy amber copper body with a small wispy beige head. The nose is a bit stale and cardboardy but there’s a touch of sweet munich malt peeking through, light stale hoppiness. The flavor is grainy and husky with a bit of a chemical flavor throughout. Medium to light bodied with minimal soft carbonation. This wasn’t especially good, it didn’t taste fresh at all. KyotoLefty (10193) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 29, 2010
Draught at sandkerwa. Dark amber-orqnge color. Somewhat sweet, malty flavor, with caramel and some dried fruits. Rather bland and sweet, but ok.

Firkin listed as Hartmann Marzen at Brauhaus Schmitz. Pours a slightly hazed amber with a low carbonation and thinning head. Aroma is earthy cork/ solvent chlorine, phenolic, medicinal, mineral, mushroom and mildew wiht light papery oxidized malts. Flavor is more chlorine and corked malts, off stale cheesy hops, more mildew and funk with green grassy hops and some acetaldehyde- light stale pils and amber malts, old stale wet paper, toffee, and a limp weak finish. Something went wrong on this cask. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 27, 2010
From the firkin at the Huber Haus. Pours aslightly hazy orange with a large white head of incredible staying power. Mild caramel aroma. Palate is remarkably carbonated and fizzy for a gravity cask. Medium toasted flavor with a subtle smoky roastedness at the finish. This beer is a bit underwhelming to me due to its thinness. Okay, but the flavor does not live up to its rarity. kitschy (326) - Nebraska, USA - JAN 27, 2010
On tap at the huber haus. Aroma increases as the beer warms. Beautiful amber color with a smooth white head. Lovely aroma, roasted grains. Flavor carries the roasted nose into taste. I’m concerned that the aftertaste is a touch sour. Overall quite yummy. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 16, 2009
Draft. Medium off-white head atop crystal clear light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, light earthy. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some spicy/earthy. Light-medium body, light crispness. Ungstrup (37217) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 27, 2008
Draft. A red-amber beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is very fresh with notes of malt and crisp hops. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel, brewmash, crisp hops, and hints of metal. The finish is bitter with the metal linering.
