Bottle. Dark brown colour with a tan head. Sweet, roasted malt aroma. The flavour is sweet, roasted malt with notes of coffee and some bitterness. Quite light and watery. TEJA (3347) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 14, 2009
Big short foam with big bubles. Dark red amber color. Small aroma from chocolate malt. Smoth beer with a litle bitterness and a small chocolate and caramell taste. No errors but a beer that don’t say anything. rosenbergh (11947) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 8, 2009
440 ml can. As 1836 Classic Porter. Finland. BBE 06/2009.
Dark brown slightly reddish colour with huge cloudy tan head. Sweet roasted malt aroma with some chocolate notes. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and vanilla sweetness in flavour. Rather thin and watery.

0,5l bottle, labeled "Classic Porter". Chestnut color, big head. Chocolate and malt in the nose. Flavor is also dominated by chocolate, some roasted malts and a bit of a bitter finish. Taste is quite thin though. gunnfryd (15490) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 13, 2009
Can. Dark brown colour witha beige head. Aroma is sweet, malt, roasted, coffee. Flavour is sweet, malt, roasted, coffee. Medium body. OK beer, but could be more. TET (3282) - Kaarina, FINLAND - JAN 30, 2009
Cola-dark beer with medium beige head. Aroma is lightly sweet and malty, nicely roasted, slightly sour and overally good. Flavour is too thin, some roastiness and bitterness but nothing more. Quite easy to drink and little too much of carbonation. Simple, light, balanced porter, but I would like to see more effort and courage. yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 27, 2009
Can, thx to oh6gdx. As 1846 Classic Porter. It pours a very dark brown body under a nice, but diminishing, beige head. Some roasted malt with a little DMS in the aroma. Chocolate, coffee and salty licorice too. The flavor has salty licorice, some roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Fizzy, medium mouthfeel. Roasted, coffee-like finish. Quite decent for a 4.5% macro-brewed porter. (081127) Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2008
It is a brown-black beer with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and light licorice. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, light licorice, caramel and a light, dry bitterness.
