Draft from backlog. Pours dark brown. Nose and taste of light toasted malt, toasted nuts and hint of butterscotch. Lighter medium body. joebudzjoe (677) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Pint from the Brewery. Pours a slightly opaque dark brown with an aggressively fizzling head, this brown ale is a light, malty beer with notes of root beer, almonds and a slight cheese flavor from the yeast. This beer is a bit watery and if the brewers are able to lose the cheese flavor, you got yourself a very good brown ale. blipp (9929) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 14, 2010
Draft. Pours red brown with a beige head. Light roasty aroma with some lighter sweet malty notes. The flavor is roasty and nutty with a light butterscotchy sweetness. Decent. egajdzis (6830) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2008
Poured a clear brown color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, and a bit of roast. Taste of caramel, nuts, roasted malts, and some cocoa. Creamy mouthfeel, one of the better beers from this brewpub. rman18 (314) - Caldwell, New Jersey, USA - FEB 25, 2008
Very nice beer!!! Made up for the disappointment when they did not have any stout left. This beer had a nice malt smell and flavor. Kept to its nutty name. The aroma was one of the best I have ever smelt! A must whenever you are in the area.

Clear brown, thin creamy light tan head. Soft nose of milk chocolate and toasted nut. Toasty balanced flavors of more chocolate, and malty nut with just a touch of hopping. Light bodied and thin, soft carbonation, nutty finish. Just ok... argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 23, 2006
Minimal beige head with clear copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, roast, chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, roast, some nut, caramel. Light-medium body, low carbonation. dkoonce (911) - People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA - DEC 5, 2006
Clear brown, almost black. A modest khaki head and a nutty aroma. Nutty finish with a burnt harshness that spoils the experience. TomDecapolis (4636) - Milton, Delaware, USA - DEC 1, 2006
Pours a brown with ruby and an average creamy off white head that left slight lacing. Aroma very toasty, nuts, roasted almonds, some coffee grinds and a light hop presence. Flavors of the same...although slightly toned down from the aroma. Slightly on the thin side. illinismitty (2377) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 18, 2006
Pours cherry brown, with a wisp of a head. Not much aroma, just some faint roastiness whihc I had to struggle to pick up. Overcarbonated mouthfeel, thin texture, and no sweetness made this one rather disappointing for such a simple beer.
