330ml bottle from Liquors Hasegawa, Tokyo Station, Japan (¥518):faroeviking (11389) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - MAY 21, 2017
This one turned out to be quite an interesting offering with nice variety to the beer & a good balance too that helped make it realteively easy to drink. It seemed like it was a stronger offering than the 4.5% abv. on the bottle but this was mainly down to the complexity of the beer rather than any strong alcohol flavours but it was quite a dark & smoky beer too. Further on & some nice sweetness helped to balance things out with the beer, some chocolate flavours featuring to help out but it was the vanilla pods that contributed most in this respect & kept things interesting through.
Botella. Black colur, beige big steady head, nice sticky lacing. Aroma of well roasted malts, some dark fruit, roasty caramel and bot coffee too. Good mouthfeel. Flavour of roasted malt and caramel, chocolate, dark fruits. TimE (6351) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 20, 2016
Dark brown color. Fudge, chocolate cake and molasses in the nose. Very nice start. Excellent dark Munich malt, roasted malt and chocolate character. Slightly acrid. Excellent example of a schwartz. Lingering roasted and chocolate malt finish. yngwie (17367) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 14, 2015
Bottle. It’s an almost black on, topped by a dense, dark beige head leaving lacing. Roasted malts, caramel and coffee, some acidic notes and fruity sourness. A good dash of chocolate and a touch of leather too. It’s full-bodied, soft and smooth, with some roasted sourness. There’s a touch of ashtray in the flavor, with dark chocolate, roasted malts and some dried fruits. Long finish. A beer that needs more than a sip to shine. 151114 Meilby (11826) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 14, 2015
