Bottle from Binns, Darlington. 2001 Vintage aged for around 16 years and drank on 2017-01-01. Opaque inky black with no head at all and no carbonation. It has a very strong leather, oak and bitter chocolate flavour followed by a smooth dark chocolate, liquorice and leather finish. Pretty good considering the age.

Bottle from the BeerHawk stand at the Good Food Show at Birmingham NEC. Black with a moderate brown head. Viscous yet ultra-smooth. Massive aromas and flavours- chocolate, red wine, leather, bitumen, blackberries and loads more. Hugely complex and satisfying, yet still strangely drinkable and more-ish. A fantastic beer.

uckelman (725) - Durham, ENGLAND - NOV 19, 2016
Pours black, totally opaque. No head. Very strong raisin aroma along with some sour notes. Basically smells like port. Not nearly as full bodied as I was anticipating. Somewhat mineral on the finish. Moderately sweet, but not cloying. Warming.

Strong sour aroma, really delightful. Deep dark brown, no head. Fierce, fiery, with a strongly alcoholic undertone (but not overdone). Sour and malty and just fantastic. Perfectly bodied.

Bottle. Flat, no head. Vinous, dry . Smells spontaneous, like a wild yeast has been used. Deep roast comes through at the finish. Its reasonable but not as exciting as Id hoped for.
