Cask gravity at 32nd WHOAF. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is mild smoke, milk chocolate, treacle, rocky road, earth and candy. The taste is rich, tarry, burnt rubber, charred wood, treacle, toast, dark fruit, peppery, rocky road and leather with a very dry finish. Full body, lift carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Sticky stuff. Ok. StueyD (1586) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2014
A black beer with a latte coloured head. A potent aroma of burnt malt elements, nutty, chocolatey, espresso coffee, ripe red fruits and raisiny dried fruit. Rich and full mouthfeel. The taste continues in the same vein as the aroma, mouth-filling dark malt flavours, bitter chocolate, coffee, nutty, then the fruits come through to add a slightly smoother sweetness. The finish is long, lingering and has all the elements from the taste.
