Pours hazy ruby brown with lacing of tan head. Barely perceptible nose, low carbonation, sweet caramalt and very slight roastiness.

Cask at the Royal Oak. Dark red/brown with a small beige/slightly grey head. Aroma is oaky and fruity, bit of cherry in there I think. Quite creamy malty with a slight sourness. Bit thin in the mouth, and but with a nice fruity finish. For me one of the better Harveys beers, but still not wild about it.

Cask at the Royal Oak. It pours dark brown, with pretty much no head. The nose is caramel, dark fruit, chocolate and a touch of vinegar. The taste is caramel, light vinegar, nut, wood, leather, roast malt and charcoal, with a big dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent. Almost black with a purple glow and lace. Light chocolate nose, a bit funky, some berries. Fruity, dusty flavor with powdered chocolate and a roasty finish. Decent.

Cask - The Royal Oak, Borough, London. Poured a hazy, deep ruddy brown with a fine though lasting tan head leaving a moderate, soapy lace. Mild sweet roasty, fruity notes on the aroma. Delicate roast on the tongue, a hint of chocolate, nutty, house yeast and a finishing berry tang. Dry medium length bitterness, light body with softish carbonation.
