Royal Oak. Cask. Clear deep red - amber beer. Little pale tan head. Light dry palate, very moderate carbonation. Mildly tangy dried fruits. Little apple. Little malt. Dry finish. Meh! Watery and green and a bit rubbish.

Cask at the Lord Nelson, Brighton. Pours amber-brown with a filmy, off-white head. Some light toasted malts and ripe fruit in the nose. Flavor is lightly sweet with hints of toffee, some bread and faint, ripe dark fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finish is lightly dry with dark fruit.
