bartlebier (3946) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAY 1, 2017
275ml bottlette from Middle Farm Cider Shop. - Probably a lot more historically genuine than many overhopped revivalist stouts, hence sweetish and watery, like the runnings of stout wort for a heavier batch. Savoury sweet liquorice juice in aroma, very diluted malt lozenge and coughdrop in taste before it turns into fully fledged breadpudding indeed. Still much better than Piedbœuf or many adjunct-sticky Belgian concoction.

thejackpacker (420) - East Sussex, ENGLAND - APR 4, 2017
Bottle from the brewery. Very decent low alcohol beer, a bit like påskmust in Sweden. Nice colour, sweet though and watery but hey what do you expect from 2.8%.

Juha (73) - Surrey, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2015
This is very much like Finnish "kalja", sweet low alcohol thirst quenching refreshing drink. I could brush my teeth with this in the morning, and I will. Very nice in its style.

DIBBLE (103) - Worthing, West Sussex, ENGLAND - APR 14, 2015
275ml bottle from Harveys Brewery Shop. Aroma of burnt toffee. Dark beer with brief tan head. Lightly carbonated. The sugary sweetness is addictive. Hint of raisins, buttered toasted tea cake. Dry sweet finish. I?m now craving home made bread pudding.

AshtonMcCobb (6499) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 13, 2015
Bottle from Harvey’s online. Appearance - close to black with a decent thin head. Nose - light red fruits, toffee. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - again, they can make a decent beer at low alcohol.

Scopey (14511) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2014
Bottle from Harvey’s brewery shop. It pours black with a medium tan head. The nose is sweet, cola, sugary, mild roast and treacle. The taste is sweet, toasty, charred wood, cola, watery, damp cardboard, sugary and molasses with a short, sort of sweet finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. Simple sweet stout, with not a whole lot going on. Ho hum.
