tombyars (1766) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 5, 2012
First tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in December 2005. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale mahogany in colour with a thin off white head. Slightest of hints of toffee in the short aroma. Thin watery mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a weak digestive biscuit base with dry currants present. Dry earthy hop resins in the short aftertaste. Finish just about edges into the malt but runs out of steam though. Not the best from the portfolio but at least its not another Golden Ale! Gravity Cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. Tasty piney hops balanced with sweet maltiness. The hops last through to the finish. harrisoni (19318) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2006

, Helsinki) Slightly hazy nut brown color with a tiny, but persistent and lacy head. Nutty, aromatic-hoppy aroma. Sweetish, aromatic-hoppy flavor with a dry, slightly acidic finish. Medium-bodied, smooth-carbonated palate. A pleasant surprise for a 4.1% cask, but still quite a basic brew overall.
Cask Handpump at Fitzgeralds, Whitley Bay 02/11/2005.
Golden amber coloured with some citrus fruit present. Some dryness in the bitter finish which lasts.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2006 Too much bitter, I guess, the colour is almost organge, and the foam sticks great to the glass, but just nice. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2005
UPDATED: APR 24, 2006 Aroma is slight though it comes through a little fruity apricot and apple, maybe orange peel too. Taste is similar with a not as dry as expected finish and little biterness. A good session beer alround. chriso (21656) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 13, 2005
Cask (gravity dispense), Chelmsford Beer Festival, July 2005. Attractive orange/amber colour. Fairly hoppy, as the lighter Harviestoun beers tend to be. Grassy and herbaceous rather than flowery. Citric, but with noticeable gooseberry character - reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc flavour. Mouthfeel is dry and a bit chalky/minerally. Clean and fresh, but not overloaded with flavour.

Beer Festival. Nice fresh hoppy aroma. Sweetish citric hop character, hints of grapefruit and tropical fruit, light and refreshing.
(cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Amber colour, large creamy head. Fresh aroma of citric fruit. Flavour of grapefruit and starfruit, hints of cookies and toffee. Bitter grapefruity finish.
