This tasty ale is light in colour, yet strong in flavour, with a wondeful hoppy aroma and citrus flavour, with just a hint of sweet malt in the finish. It is a thirst-quenching yet well-rounded beer, proving that a lower strength can still be big on taste. Hops used: Challenger, Glacier, Saaz.

Cask Pint – JDW Fest Autumn 2011 in Oct 2011 - Pale Gold in colour. Hoppy; grassy and piney hops. Fruity; grapefruit citrus. Malty; some sweet malts. Full flavoured for low ABV. Bitter citrus fruity hoppy throughout. Very drinkable. (2011-10-24)

Pint while at the Dr Who club in the Crystal Palace (JDW) in Glasgow. Not much head. A golden colour.

Cask at The Argyll Hotel, Ullapool. It pours straw yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is tropical fruit, orange squash and white bread. The taste is zesty citrus, lemon, tangerine peel, light soap, peppery hop and grass, with a bitter, slightly citric finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Solid session ale.

Cask by handpump at Four Marys, Linlithgow (25 May 12) - clear pale golden ale, thin white head, fruity hop aroma, good temperature, grassy, citrus flavour, moderate carbonation, easy to drink

Cask at Teviot. Golden blonde pour, thick white head that doesn’t go anywhere! Soft hoppy grassy nose, hint of bready malts. Very dry and slightly citrus, with subdued peppery Saaz character. Nice soft bitter linger. Ok, perfectly sessionable.

Well balanced real ale with a good hoppiness to it as well as a malty finish.

Tasted this at the Troon Beer Festival in October 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Thought that this might be a dark one what with the name in all - nah. Yet another Golden Ale. Clear pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Clear rasberry fruit in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts gives a fruitloaf base with dark berry fruit evident. Thin hop resins give a slight spicy note to the brief aftertaste. Finish is sweet and malty. One of the better Golden Ales to be had in the portfolio and recommended.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cloudy gold beer. Residual white head. Light palate, slightly crisp and semi dry. Okay pale malt supports good hops. A little tangy orange - tangerine and a nice peach note. Finishes dry with mild hop bitterness. Refreshing!
