COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ola Dubh (or "Black Oil") is so named because it is gloopy and viscous. This limited release has been matured in casks from Orkney’s award-winning Highland Park distillery to add complimentary whisky notes to what is already an amazing brew. It is chocolatey with a roasty, bittersweet aftertaste. Special Reserve 18, whisky notes: Highland Park 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was named Best Spirit in the World by F. Paul Pacult; it offers toffee sweetness, almond nuttiness and a prolonged, smoky aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours unctuous and decadent. Puffy tan head that dissipates to a thin layer. Aroma is rum raisin, clear alcohol whisky quality to the nose, nutty chocolate. Held to the light it’s a deep reddish brown. Rum raisin aroma follows through to the palate, roasty burnt sweet maltiness, with a whisky alcohol-laden warming finish. Quite sweet and indulgent overall, a pleasant sipper late at night.

Slight bitter sourness a la Guinness foreign extra stout but much better. Liquorice, dried raisins and dark chocolate. Nice but slightly thin for the strength

OminouSC2 (670) - Mora, SWEDEN - JUN 4, 2017
Dark brown color, small brown head. Aromas of peat, bitter dried fruits, wood, spices, cognac and caramel with slight tart hints. Taste of whisky, peat, tart dark fruits, wood, smoked meat, bitter honey and slight resin. Much more whisky flavors than its younger siblings.

CaptainTilven (191) - Nancy, FRANCE - MAY 28, 2017

allanmb (269) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2017
Pours thin black with decent tan head. Aromas of coffee, molasses, oak, hint of chocolate and a vague wisp of smoke. Medium carbonation and light to medium mouth feel. Taste is Raisins, coffee, molasses, hint of oak and some peat phenols. Medium sweet with moderate bitterness. This is like Brewdog paradox islay on a diet. The flavour is there but it’s not big and bold enough
