COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Roasted barley; Oats; Washington Galena, Worcester Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Pours a treacly brown, with a foamy tan head which quickly dissipates. Nose is chocolate, malt, slightly burnt. Taste is very creamy, sweet, with burnt treacly notes, some chocolate, and some bitterness in the finish. Palate is very smooth, with fine grained carbonation. Lovely stuff!

Bottle at Smash, Reading. 01/12/16. Not much aroma. Jet black. Let down by the thinness of the beige head. Medium bitter. Creamy oats and a liquorice tang. Lovely. Body surprisingly thin. However a great porter.

330ml. In a snifter. R8. Ohh yeah, thats a silky nose and this beer looks like Whitney Houston after a metamorphosis if shed become a liquid formation of herself in her 20s. Black, smooth and rich. Taste the lip smacking palate...roast malts, milk chocolate, fudge, coffeeish, oil. Nice burnt meaty finish. Good shit .

0.1 l from tap (keg) at The Shakespeare (Herdecke). Very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of milk chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and some raisins. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of milk chocolate, coffee, praline, hazelnut and a touch of raisins, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter finish. Medium body slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty!

330ml bottle. Extremely dark brown with a smooth tan head. Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate, slightly smoky. Taste: like the aroma mainly the roasted malts and chocolate flavours, bittersweet, finishing bitter and smokey. Really smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Decent porter.

Pours opaque coffee brown with a thick and persistent tan head. Aroma delivers tempting roast malt, woody hops and chocolate notes. Flavor features roasted and slightly charred malt, chocolate, and woody hops, with subtle chocolate sweetness nicely balancing the subtle hop bitterness. Mouthfeel offers thin body but good fizz. Get oiled up! (But if you get too "oiled," please call a cab or Lyft.
