UPDATED: SEP 28, 2006 Bottle. Pours like a quart of motor oil and has a thick, mocha colored head with sticky lacing. Aroma has hints of licorice, raisins, and molasses, very earthy. Flavor has the same qualities with a little bit of chocolate in the back end. Has some smoked, roasty notes in there as well. yespr (44706) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAY 30, 2008
Århus2008. 33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black wth a redish glare and a lacing light tan head. Mild chocolate, malty and liqourice aroma. Flavour is roasted malt and liqourice with a light acidic touch. Ends with a liqourice and roasted flavour. Nice one. Ungstrup (37231) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 10, 2004

Casked. Ruby red/black colour with small brown head. Aroma of roasted malts and strange sweetness. The sweetness also dominates the flavour and makes the otherwise so good beer rather unbalanced. I prefer the bottled version of this by far. (6 3 5 2 10)
Bottle. Pours a black colour with a tan head. Roastd malty aroma with some hints of raisins. Roasted malty flavor with hints of coffee and chocolate. Malty chocolate aftertaste. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 2, 2006
(Bottle 33 cl) Almost pitch black with only a vague, reddish hue. Very small - almost absent - beige head. Close to being flat. Aroma of roasted malt, complex almost vinous with a raisiny touch. Lovely, dark lightly burned malty notes. Not too full-bodied with roasted malt, alcohol and licorice. Discreet, dry bitterness. Quite lovely. 020106 omhper (24963) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 7, 2003
Bottled. Dark black, no head. Aroma of dark chocolate. Roasty and very malty with notes of licorice that lingers on into the grassy finish. Another good beer from this brewery. madmitch76 (24360) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 8, 2011

Warning! Early amateur rating! Very dark beer. Deliciously savoury malt that is not complex, sweet or bitter just pleasantly savoury!
