COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Roasted barley; Oats; Washington Galena, Worcester Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Well balanced. Mouthfeel - Medium body, cream velvet texture. Crisp and clean finish with light/medium carbonation Drinkability - Pleasant & well balanced. Pours a nice near black from a bottle. Big roasted malt aroma, hint of chocolate. Flavor is a bitter cola, again chocolate, finishes dry and bitter. Okay beer.

L: -pours the darkest of brown with no light coming through and a small to medium, foamy, beige head S: -coffee,chocolate,nutty,molasses,vanilla sweet sugar upfront, plums, raisins, oats, coffee, cola, bitter finish F: -medium carbonation -light to medium body O: Very similar to a Sweet Stout. I usually don't like Sweet Stouts, but this has enough bitterniss to balance out the high sweetness.

A good British porter is always a treat, so I was delighted to pick up a can of this beer. Pours black and smooth, with limited lacing on the glass. Aroma was of caramel with a hint of sweetness. Taste was chocolate with a bitter, hoppy aftertaste. Not one I'd recommend, based on my expectation of the style.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2017 Pours black with foamy head. Aroma is deep chocolate. Flavor starts as chocolate, but quickly transforms into a bitty hoppiness, reminiscent of an IPA. Bitter flavor lingers through finish. Not what I was expecting.

Pours dark black with a thin tan head and thick lacing. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, ash, candied orange, plum and mint. Taste is sweet with a medium bitter finish. Nice mouthfeel but a touch thin. Another 1% on the ABV and this would be very decent, just falls a little short.

Jet black colour with decent frothy brown foam. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee with milky notes and a touch of sweet dried fruit like figs and plums as well as a slight earthy touch. Palate, full body with smooth creamy texture leaving slight bitter finish. Taste bitter of chocolate, and coffee with a touch of cocoa. Overall, the nice rich texture just could be a tad thicker but none the less still an awesome beer.
