COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Pale malt; Roasted barley; Oats; Washington Galena, Worcester Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Bottle, 330ml. Black in colour with almost no head. Aroma of roasted barley and malt. A fairly burnt taste with barley, oats, roasted malt and a little hoppy citrus. Maybe some chocolate notes in there with a little imagination. Not a bad brew, but I’d be happier if it had something to balance out the burnt notes that dominate.

330ml bottle. Very dark brown with beige head. Tastes like a combination of a porter and an old ale, big dark fruits, vinous fruits, liquorice, dark chocolate, dark coffee. Light carbonation, well balanced, smooth body.

Bottle 0.33L. Dark brown-to-black body with a large, creamy, tan head, mostly lasting with some lacing. Moderate malty (toasted) aroma with notes of coffee, licorice, nuts and light red fruits; notes of coffee become more intense when the beer warms up a bit. Moderate bitter and sweet flavour with a long-lasting round finish. Full body with oily-to-creamy texture; soft carbonation. Nice one!

From 330ml can. Pours jet black with a creamy tan head. Lots of nice roasted aromas- malts, coffee, waft of sweetness. Tastes of espresso, chocolates, roasted nuts balanced nicely with just enough bitterness. Full bodied, rich texture.

Really dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has some roasted malt notes and brown sugar. Taste follows, roasty, toasty, really balanced, just slightly bitter on the finish. Medium body, quite smooth on the palate. Not bad but a bit too old school.

Copenhagen 30/5 2017. 33 cl bottle from Meny. An old car on the label which seems to be in dire need of some Engine Oil. Pours opaque dark brown with a dense light beige head. Settles as 2 cm thick layer of dense foam. Moderate lacing. Aroma is strong. Licorice, strong bitter coffee, roasted malts and a surprisingly bitter streak. Soft carbonation and soft, creamy palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by surprisingly strong bitter licorice. Aftertaste is mostly bitter. Very fine old engine oil with a nice touch of licorice.

Deep brown to black, moderate beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, dried fruit. Light to medium body. Roasted malts on tongue. Dry. Decent floral hopping. Lingering bitter finish. Good brew.
