Scotland: Thistly Cross Beer fest. Cask Lager? It was one of the best lagers I’ve ever had though.

Slightly cloudy sandalwood yellow. Aroma is fruity, hoppy, light. Taste is a heavenly bitter lemon mixed with sweetish hops. Turns to bitter on the tongue. It’s lager, Jim, but not as we know it.

Drunk from cask at beer festival at Marquess. Very strange but enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at Sheffield Tap. Clear golden colour with a tight, white lasting head. Smells of lager, funnily enough. Tastes initially sweet. Then malty. Then dry. There’s an alcoholic fruitiness in there too.

[email protected] Matthews hall, walsall. Golden beer with tight medium head and excellent lacing. Aroma of sweet lager malts and dry hops. Taste follows the aroma plus citrus fruits and some Passion fruit. Very good. Best lager I have ever had, its amazing what a cask can do.

Pleasant lager, sweet malt dominates, a little bit thin in the mouthful which lets it down slightly. Still enjoyable.

Cask @ the new rose. Ever so slightly hazy golden colour, thin bubbly head. Aroma is malt and citrus, slight wheatiness too. Slight carbonation not much. Flavour malty and sweet with a little booze at end. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden colour. Plenty of fizz, giving a good head, with good head retention. Very smooth and crisp feel to it. Great alternative to standard lagers.
