Cask handpull at Humphrey Bean JDW, Tonbridge. Very dark brown, ruby, lasting beige head. Fullish dark beer, spicy nutmeg hop. Malts are dryish and decent, about moderate, its got good choc, some dark fruit on aroma. I thought this was pretty good and I had it again before I left. wheresthepath (2395) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2008
[Gravity cask at Monks Retreat, Reading] Deep chestnut with a foamy beige head. Initially quite bitter - I thought I wasnt going to like it. However, flavours soon start to pour through - lots of malt, raisins, balsamic vinegar, a warm barn full of straw and animals, old wood and breadsticks. The more I drank this, the more I liked it. Quite interesting and complex for the ABV, and yet inherently quaffable. Yet another great beer from Scotland. bobinlondon (1297) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 7, 2008
Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End, Harrow. Dark brown with an off-white head. Flavour full of toasted, smokey malts with a fruity bitterness. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - NOV 30, 2008
Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW Northampton A dark ruby coloured beer with a thick off-white coloured head. The aroma is fairly thinnish but there are berry fruits in there. The taste is pretty complex with berries, other fruits and Christmas spices. A bit toasty, and warming. Very nice

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes in Wetherspoons BF ’08. Dark brown with a small beige head. A very faint elastoplast aroma. Strong malty taste with a delightful vegetal backtaste. Mid bitter finish. Liked this.

A Mes rate: cask at Baker Street ’Sporks.yespr (47545) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - NOV 21, 2008
Very dark, semi translucent brown with a decent beige head. Lovely roasted malt aroma with an almost smoky hint and some excellent resinous grassy hops giving it really good balance. Slight liquorice and fruit too. A good smelling beer. It tastes pretty good too. Seems a little bland at first but it bursts into life at the finish. Rich nutty malt hits first, followed by an assertive bitterness from the well performing hops. Eventually it settles on fruit and toast. A really good, dry mouthfeel that keeps you gulping. Was hoping this would be decent. It’s a bit more than that. Good stuff.
From cask at Clockwork Orange. Pours dark brown with a small redish golden glare and a small off-white head. Dark roasted malty aroma. Smooth chocolate flavour with a nice roasted malty base flavour. Smooth. Slight bitter to acidic roasted finish with a mild chocolate note coming through. Smooth lasting impression.
