Cask at The Rake, London. For some reason I associate more or less only dark beers with this brewery, so this was a nice lark. Potent, almost heavy-looking pour with a chalky, sedimental look to it. That’s complement by the extreme ripeness in the nose, giving this one the impression of a cross between a farmhouse and a pale. Mouthfeel occasionally got a bit watery, undercutting things just a touch, but the flavors were generally pleasant and decently complex as well.

Cask at The White Lion, Covent Graden, London dec 2012. Clear amber beer with a medium tanned lacy head. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Similar flavour with great bitterness.

Cask @ The Bon Accord. Amber brown colour, big head. Mild vanilla grain aroma. Sour grassy malt flavour. Citrus aftertaste. Had better from Harviestoun.

Cask at the Halfway House, Edinburgh - 08/12/12. Almost clear mid amber with a thin frothy off white head which retains well. Nose is hops, light mango, pine, touch of bitter grapefruit. Taste follows, bitter grapefruit at the fore, singy citrus tones, mineral notes, light peach. Medium bodied, soft fine carbonation, good bitter finish. Decent stuff!

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Chequers Oxford 02/11/12. A golden beer with a white bubbly head. Nice sharp piney hops in the nose. More great hoppiness in the mouth. Spicy and piney. Tastes really fresh. Really good.

From cask at Abbotsford. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is light fruity and mild toasted malty. Citrusy, light peachy and crisp hoppy. Toasted malty. Bitter and grapefruity, citrusy and crisp hoppy finish.

zimbo (972) - SCOTLAND - OCT 29, 2012
Slight continental nose strange enough with an off bitterness which makes an end appearance. Golden sparkle almost devoid of beading with a slight white fluffy white head. Like a Euro bitter IPA pilsner and not really to my liking.

cask at haymarket ... golden amber ... thin creamy pff white head ... soft floral soapy pine nose ...bright bright zezty hop ... big oily grapefruit and huge grapefruit linger ...

Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2012
Cask. Slightly hazy amber with a good deal of lacing throughout the glass. Strong bready, caramel malty backbone with a citrus orangey, lightly tropical hop profile. Dry and noticeably bitter as it ends. Not bad at all.
