(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a dense medium-sized and tanned foamy head, slowly lacing. Toasty malty and slightly bready aroma with notes of caramel, chocolate, a tinge of anise on a herbal hoppy background. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a crispy mouthfeel. Moderately roasted malty base with notes of dark chocolate, caramel and mildly herbal hoppy spots; slightly sweet and roasty bitter finish with a delicate hops character. A superb Dunkel. 28.V.10 hayduke (5731) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 2, 2006
A very nice dark beer on draft in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. Nice nose of rich malts and hops. Rich brown color with a nice long-lasting light brown head and good lacing. Smooth on the tongue. This is a great example of a local brew. Not sure how wide of a distribution this gets, but it was simply fantastic. jbrus (4988) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - NOV 28, 2005

Hard to believe no one has tapped into this extrodinary dunkel. Bought this outside of Nordlingen, Germany and was excited to try it knowing that this must be a small brewery. Boy was I right on target this is an all around excellent dunkel. Not watered down, a nice malt blend with a touch of sweetness in the finish.
