Bügelverschlußflasche (purchased at the brasserie): Clear, copper coloured, mid-sized, slowly diminishing fluffy off-white head; sugary, roast-malty nose with light barnyardy and fruity (raisins); solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; traces of brandy in the bitter-sweet-caramelly finish. O.K., but not so well rounded......... MoritzF (10067) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - DEC 26, 2007
(swing top bottle, labelled simply as Bock, 6.5% abv, purchased at the brewers house in early December) Clear, amber colour with a fluffy, slowly lacing, slightly yellow foamy head. Sweet toast-malty nose with caramel, liquorice and a subtle citrus-fruity touch, rounded up with spicy, nettle-like herbal hops. Toasty malty, slightly bready and nutty taste with liquorice and caramel; medium bodied with a soft and well-matured carbonation; medium-dry, slightly roasted malty and nutty finish with a well-rounded spicy hoppy blend. (Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear, dark amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and burned caramel. Good, solid, full body with lightly roasted malt and caramel and some hops for balance. Maybe a vague underlying burned edge. 091106

An amber beer with a very slight haze under a lazing light orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with caramel being most dominant, the alcohol is only lingering in the back ground - hard to believe it is 7% ABV. The end is dry with slight hints of the alcohol, but with stronger notes of caramel. OK, but nothing special.
