3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s dark, red-brown with a creamy head, and the aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, licorice and syrup. The flavour is light to moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, syrup, caramel and licorice – a really nice schwarzbier.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium, lightly beige head over foxy-amber beer with golden highlights. Bready, nutty malts nose, very lightly roasted; discreet. Fresh, leafy-greenery tatste with parsly, and again (hazel)nutty notes. Bitterish aftertaste, roasted-hoppy; light body with some slickness. Bitterness grows in time. Nice dark lager. Not really a Schwarzbier in my experience. Txs, Sebastian!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(swing top bottle) Hazy, dark brown colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Rich roast-malty aroma, slightly leafy with notes of caramel, dark chocolate and a tinge of molasses. Bitter-sweet flavour, a bit slim bodied with a soft carbonation. Tastes like liquid Malzbonbons from Bavaria with the right bitterness-sweetness ratio; rather dry and slim roasty bitter finish. 16.X.12

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
*Old rating, best before 27.08.10. Dark and roasted brew. Earthy flavours, intense and heavy roasted malt. Hints of sweetness, quite dry, burned bread. Great with a moderate bitterness in the end fitting in well.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle. Clear dark brown colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, diminishing, beige head. Decent dark malty aroma has notes of dark bread, some grain, a touch of caramel. Taste is initially minimally sweet caramel malty with a touch of bread, slightly metallic in the middle part, in the finish again slightly sweet dark malty with a touch of chocolate. Nice in taste but thin, light bodied and watery throughout, especially in the middle part.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts fine malty, modest dry, nice smokey notes. Not as sweet as other schwarzbiers, more spicy. Finish well balanced, malty-spicy, still interesting smokey notes. Good one!

Bottle @ dive bar. Dark brown color with red tint. Lots of lace. Tight beige head. big, sweet malty aroma. Soft smooth palate. Bready dough malts predominate. Cookies. Teddy bear, cuddly beer more like a braunbier than a schwartz but very drinkable.
