At the Funk Asheville Festival 2015. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Flavors of lemon and tarty yellow cherries. Bitter finish.

Bottle sample. hazy golden color, thin white head. Aroma of vinous stone fruit and light spice. Taste is raw bread, spice, sweetish fruit. Decent.

Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs; thanks GAbell). Looks good; a slightly hazy golden orange with thin white head that dissipates into lacing pretty quickly. Smells and tastes tripel-esque with some rye spice and a nicely balanced chardonnay and mild oak presence from the barrel. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full-bodied and pleasant. I had all but given up on this style because it’s usually way too sweet for me, but this one is nicely balanced and delivers.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange color with white head. Straw, yeasty, white wine, slight oak aromas. Yeast, white wine, hay, slight bubblegum flavors. Medium bodied, a touch of alcohol. A very nice beer.

Tap. Hazy golden with small head. Very nice wine influence mutes the sweetness a bit. Complex and delicious.

Growler from Stella Brew. Blond pour, thin, medium white head. Aroma has some pepper and banana, peas, and a really nice fruity vinous note as it warms. Flavor is belgian yeast, bready, mildly peppery, slight wood spice. Crisp with some banana in the finish. Really nice and drinkable.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2015 Pours a hazy golden color with medium off white head. Aroma is somewhat sweet, fruity. Chardonnay barrel is definitely present. Taste is a bready malt with a buttery quality. On the sweeter side. It has a dry tart finish. Good beer.

bottle, from Bottle Revolution RDU. good aroma, sweet, fruity. Pear, apple, banana, chardonnay barrel show itself. Bready malt. hazed golden orange color, not much in the way of head or lace. sweet flavor. medium body, oily thick creamy mouthfeel, dry sweet finish. it’s nice, aroma best part, IMO. nice fruity yeasty barrel blend. flavor isn’t as interesting, it’s more grainy maly and less fruity to me. still fine local beer

Bottle from Beer Study. Soft straw blonde pour with a thin white head. Nose is vinous and fruity with some rustic and grainy notes (Riverbend!) and fruit skins. Definitely white grape coming through in the favor and aroma, off sets the tripel base very nicely. Moderately estery with some isoamyl acetate and ethyl acetate. Grainy/bready in the mouth with some yeasty notes and vinous on the finish. Medium light bodied with a warming note. Nice
