Not a lot of excellent brown ales around...this is one of them, and why isnt it available?

Beautiful nutty malt aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour with poor head. Nutty choc caramel flavours, like a liquid eclair. Med body with low to med carbonation ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really great smooth, dark beer on the Big Island of Hawaii. Recommended. I had this at Cafe Pesto.

Tap at threes in Maui. Pours dark brown with little froth head. Nose is sweet and nutty. Mouthfeel is full and lingering warmth too. Hints of woody malts and cocoa like something. Not bad, esp while sitting across from the ocean. ---Rated via my mouth

Bottle at PAU in Weimea (Kamuela), Big Island: Surprisingly delicious brown ale -- better than most out there. Very rich with wholesome flavors -- nuts, chocolate and toast. Not overly sweet like many browns. Solid hops to boot as well, but they didn’t overpower the malts (as they shouldn’t in this style). Well made beer. I actually had two in a row.

Single bottle purchased from a small store in Hanalei on Kaua’i island on 04/09/2012. Colour: Kind of a dark amber with medium lightly off-white head. Nose: Starches and yeast. Hazelnut/macademia nut, glazed donut, slight gaseous aroma. Taste: Medium sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Big onslaught of caramel then resides to light toasted nut. Simple but effective flavor.

Shaker pint draft at Leilanas on Kaanapli Beach on Maui. The pour is a lightly hazed brown copped with a small light tan head. The aroma is soft nut sweet, earth, and nutty malt. As it warmed, some roast came out as well. The taste is dry, almost dusty, softly sweet nut. The sweet integrates with toast malt and the nuttiness, and really fades out to focus on the earthy malt, with slight roastiness. The palate is medium bodied, though highly drinkable due to its bright carbonation. I really enjoyed the character of this beer, fresh and clean, on of the best browns I have had in awhile.

Bottle in Hawaii. Rich, nutty aroma with caramel and toffee notes. Pours medium brown with a decent tan head. Caramel malt flavor followed by rich nutty finish that's very smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Lucy’s in Hilo. Brown beer, barely translucent. Nice frosty head. Deep barley aroma with some chocolate. Cold and frosty choco-barley flavor. Delicious while waiting for my moxige cai!

From bottle into regular shaker pint. Pours medium brown and turns bright ruby in the light. Head is thin, but persistent--forms a tight cap on the beer. Sweet, milk chocolate aroma. Palate is pretty balanced, though leaning towards crisp, for a brown ale. Flavor is rich roast, some chocolate, some earth, some fruit, with a bitter finish. Really nice brown ale, especially on Christmas in the early afternoon in Maui!
