Cask at the Hanging Bat. Hint of vanilla and toffee on nose, tastes dry, bitter chocolate roast, some toffee.
Pours opaque coffee brown, not much head. Smoky aroma has whisky, woody, treacle (this is an English beer!) and licorice notes. Flavor has to noes of whisky-infused oak, treacle, miso and roasted malt.texture seems a bit thin for a stout, but this is the beer’s weakest link. If ever you visit Merrie Olde England, keep your eyes peeled for this. cgarvieuk (25987) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 31, 2013
