Beaverfest Day 2. Keg. Opaque dark brown, no head. Smooth palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a little dark chocolate. A fairly big dose of bourbon, lesser bourbon soaked fruits. Light spice. Smooth dry finish leaves a bourbon linger. Tasty!

September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Hawkshead Northern Imperial Stout Bourbon Barrel Aged'. Had this twice – the first time it poured with no head at all and looked dead. The second time it looked a bit better. Opaque black. Aroma is airy, oily, some chocolate sauce. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is molasses, oily, sugary, some light cherry notes, booze and woody bourbon. Very slow drinking but OK. (7-4-6-4-15=3.6)

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day two, 09/09/17. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is chocolate, toffee, melted brown sugar, chocolate cornflake cake mix, mellow barrel, light roast. Taste comprises sweet tune, Rocky Roads, coffee, chocolate cake, mellow roast, dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, warming alcohol and mellow bourbon tones in the close. Decent enough offering if a touch overly sweet.

Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. It pours jet black with a small beige head. The aroma is soft, incredibly sweet, sugary, chocolate bourbon biscuit, oily, toffee, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon and oak. The taste is soft, sweet, intense sugary vibes, oily, chewy malt, tannin, black tea, earth, bourbon, boosty alcohol burn, earth and millionaires shortbread with a warming and drying finish. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth – feel. Has nice elements to it, but it comes across a bit sweet and harsh in places. I am sure those with a sweet tooth will love this.

(thanks for sharing!) Sampled draft @ The Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Day 2. Black. Nose is warming boozy varnish alcoholic, plastic, far too hot. Taste is varnish, plastic, molasses, chocolate, very warming, raw, low roast. Hot syrup body. Too hot, raw varnish alcohol, too young probably but not bad still.

On tap at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Black beer no head. Barrel ageing definitely. Some heat. Quite flat. Some coffee tar. Fine a bit off a sipper.
