Keg, The Criterion, Leicester. Hazy golden with a firm foam. Biscuit and light caramel toasted malts with lemon and grapefruit. Jammy apricot with tropical fruit. Lilt soft drink. Pithy white grape skin. Some English hedgerow. Dry spicy finish. Massively drinkable for its strength. Hawkshead not so traditional now.

Cask B.C."H."; metallic dark-golden beer. Nelson Sauvin, and other very fruity/flowery, blossomy hops, and lots of grapefruit too. Fruity-bitter, with grapefruit, bitter melon, lytchee. Light, but not empty MF. Gristslickness. Long bitter/hoppy aftertaste. Another excellent pale ale, in no particular national style - great!

My Bottom Line:
This New World Pale Ale’s peppery, citrusy hop resins establish themselves on the tongue for the long run, leaving plenty of bitterness on top of suave honeyed malts.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam laces well atop the misty honey gold.
-The hop aroma was brash compared to the bright hop flavour and finish.
-Drinkability is hindered by the high intensity of the flavour profile.
-The mouthfeel is slick and professionally rendered. This was a well tendered cask as well.

On cask at Old Fountain.

gunnar (9696) - Sandnes, NORWAY - AUG 23, 2015
Shared bottle at local tastiing. Pours hazy golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is fruity with some fresh crisp berries along, inviting. Taste is distinct fruity bitter, bordering harsh with lingering dry finish.

3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Not in good shape. Honey and cantaloupe and stale paper-y oxidized pale malt. Sour fruit rind, burnt pineapple, old peanuts, a kind of green mildew flavor and aroma. Medium body, lightly sweet with dull hop character and little carbonation to give life to what is there. From bottle.

downender (8891) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - APR 1, 2013
On gravity at the Volunteer, Bristol 30/3/2013. Golden with a thin white head. Big aroma of grapefruit, clementines and pine. Flavour had a lot of tropical fruit, solid malts, goosberries and a dry finish. Very good.

Svesse (8803) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 31, 2015
(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 4 Sep 2015) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grass, passion-fruit, biscuity malt and lemon peel. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, grapefruit, lemon peel, biscuits and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Fresh and tasty. Nice one.

Bottled 26/05/13. A yellowy gold coloured beer with a white ring of head and a little lace. A lovely sharp zesty beer. A great hop profile and lovely pale malts. Pretty bitter but it’s the zestiness that domiantes and is really tasty.

DruncanVeasey (8283) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2012
Bottle. Live rate. Brilliant gold with a soft, thinning white collar. Aroma of lime zest, mango, liquorice and...lager top. Like I’d know. Good stewed tea, liquorice and tropical notes rounded with biscuit and bitterness. Nice, but somehow disappointing.
