Cask at Craft Beer Co. Pours pale gold, white foamy head. Nose is big and bold hoppy pale ale. Gooseberry and grapefruit with lime, spice and pinewood. Taste is grapefruit and gooseberry bitter fruit and spicy woody notes. One of the best British versions of a pale ale I’ve ever had. Excellent.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pours pale yellow, with not much of the head variety. Smells like the bread counter in a Polski Sklep. Taste is initially ’not massive’, with only a frozen pond topping of lemon; but through the finish it grows and grows into a very dry hoppy beast. As I said, very dry. The hops are supremely refreshing and it has a good lightness on the tongue. Cuts through thirst.

Bottle. Golden with a small head. Bitter with some hopiness.Very clean taste with the bitterness overpowering the hop presence which surprised me. A good if not exceptional one.

Bottle from Beer Hive, Edinburgh
Golden, clear, frothy white head that dissipates, bit of lacing
Aroma - Pale malts, some hay, some soft grassy hops, bit of must
Taste - Better than the aroma - grassy hops, some resinous hops, sweet palate malts, bit of damp hay, some zest. In the middle, more bitterness but tempered by the sweetish hay malts. Unusual hops here, bit earthy as well. Quite complex. Not that fruity, more zest, grassy and wet hay.
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish - more bitter here, now bitter grapefruit coming through and more zest, less grass. Quite a complex linger of hops left in the lingering
Overall - Hard to describe this one as it’s rather unusual. I liked it though, the bitterness seems to want to be overpowering but is always held back by the malts. It’s a very good beer

Served from a super fresh cask at the brewery. Almost clear deep golden colour with a thick blanket of head which waves everywhere. Hungry deep tropical fruit bitterness.

Bottled 26/05/13. A yellowy gold coloured beer with a white ring of head and a little lace. A lovely sharp zesty beer. A great hop profile and lovely pale malts. Pretty bitter but it’s the zestiness that domiantes and is really tasty.

Cask at the Old Fountain - London. Pours mostly clear, yellow-gold with a strong, fluffy white head. Pale malt nose, mildly bready, some straw, dry lemon. Medium sweet flavor with some bread, lightly tangy tangerine, rioe orange, earthy hay, mild grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with moderate piney resins, bready pale malts, further tangy tangerine, some spicy pine, nips of alcohol, grass, dirt. A somewhat atypical APA but pretty well nuanced.

Cask Half Pint at Craft Beer Co, Clapham, London in Dec 2013 - Yellowy Gold in colour. Very Hoppy; piney resinous hops. Very Fruity; bitter grapefruit citrus, peaches, tropical fruits. Malty; biscuity malts. Lovely bitter hoppy fruity throughout. Finishes dry. Enjoyed this a lot. Terrific APA!

17 o bottle. Pours golden with a slight orange hue. Nice and refreshing. Grapefruit, pine, resin, passionfruit and floral notes and a nice balance/ crispness to it. Not wimpy, but the NZ hops are somehow a bit less arrogant? in-your-face? than the American equivalent. Finishes with an pleasant bitterness. Really good.

Poured from a bottle it is a light gold color with a slight head. The aroma is citrus and the taste is a pineapple grapefruit flavor. It resonates slightly bitter
