UPDATED: JUN 5, 2017 Schooner on tap in a straight beer glass at Beer Deluxe, Sydney. Appearance: Clear amber with a decent white head. Laces well. Aroma: Potent tropical fruits including passionfruit, floral notes. Taste: Citrus hops upfront, caramel. Nutty malt finish. Very fresh. Light-medium sweetness ending in lasting firm bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with high prickly carbonation near the beginning. Overall: Not a distinguished stand out in the style, but a very well made Australian IPA. As a bonus, a schooner here was only $5! Note: As of 2017 this is owned by Dixon Hospitality Group and contract brewed. Dixon also owns non-craft bars and Beer Deluxe.

Taster on tap at Beer Deluxe, Sydney. Orange/bronze beer with thin white head. Light carbonation, slight haze. Good lacing. Nose is orange and pineapple. Bitter at first then fruity, earthy hops kick in. Nice. Solid IPA.

330ml bottle. Appears dark amber with a slight haziness and a decent white head that settles to a stable film. Nose offers mellow hoppy notes of citrus fruits (tangerines mainly), tropical fruits (mango, passionfruit), pine resin and caramel malts. Taste is medium sweet with a solid citrusy and resinous hop bitterness. Nice juicy medium-bodied palate with creamy texture. Better than expected.

Bottle, Dan Murphy’s. Good beer. A restrained IPA, not a hop bomb. Pineapple and other tropical fruits on the nose. At 5.8 can drink a few and still walk. Would definitely buy again.

Grumbo (3144) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2016
Bottle bought online from Saveur Biere. Pours a hazy golden brown with a quite firm and lasting off white head, leaving good lacing. Delicious fresh, hoppy aroma with notes of caramel, light malt and vanilla. Sweetness is light/medium, with medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, texture creamy/oily, average carbonation. Long bitter finish, slight sherbet mouthfeel feel, with a light but lasting sensation of chocolate. A very very good IPA.
