On tap @ Haymarket. Pour is amber/brown with a small off-white head. Notes of sugar, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, and toffee. Finish is very sweet. drdisque (905) - Illinois, USA - FEB 16, 2017
On tap at Haymarket in a 5 oz taster. Intensely cloyingly sweet. Like a thin bodied bourbony port wine. Can taste the alcohol but isn’t too boozy just because it’s so damned sweet. Not bad but geez, super one note. alexsdad06 (11394) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 20, 2016
Draft to taster at FoBAB from notes. Pours a hazy caramel brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have big sweet malts, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, cherry notes, oak, boozy, fits nicely with the rest of this event. malkyore (377) - - SEP 9, 2015
Sweet carmel body a little of the toasty burbon. Very sweet and balanced. Avery enjoyable barley wine. Krej (224) - USA - SEP 9, 2015
Well barely wines are normally pretty great but this is an interesting one.I can’t tell if it’s really sweet or really sour. Like a sweet and sour sauce maybe. I don’t know...

Aroma: The nose is sweet and a little boozy, with bourbon, vanilla, and caramel mostly
Appearance: The pour is amber in color with an off-white-to-beige colored head
Flavor: The flavor is much the same component-wise, it leans heavily toward the sweet side
Palate: The body leans toward the full side, some stickiness, and some heat
Sweet stuff, and pretty tasty stuff as well. This one was another nice offering that I got to try on my trip to Haymarket.
On tap at Haymarket. Poured a dark amber brown with thinning cream head. Aroma sweet with brown sugar caramel bourbon. Light carb med bod. Sweet taste not too bourbony. Dogbrick (14391) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 22, 2014
Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a hazy orange-yellow color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, malt and hops. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, dark fruit, oak and resiny hops. The finish is subtle booze and piney hops. Pretty good overall.
