7/21/2011: Haymarket Mathias Imperial American IPA... Aroma: Tropiclal fruit salad! Appearance: Cloudy light amber color; beige crown. Flavor: Sweet and malty; tangerince and tone os hop flavor, including mango, pineapple; alcohol is there, but not overwhelming. Palate: Medium to medium-full body. Overall: REALLY tasty!
Draught (10% ABV) at Haymarket in Chicago, IL. Rating #53 for this beer.
Dark copper pour with a small white head. The aroma is amazingly hoppy. Lots of pine and tropical fruit, some herbal notes as well. The flavor follows suit, adding some sweet caramel malt that puts this on a slightly sweeter side of balance and dangerously drinkable. Wonderful IPA. cubs (10677) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 22, 2013
Tap @ Haymarket with TheAlum. Pours a bit hazy dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Fairly sweet, light caramel, candy, orange, citrusy hoppy aroma. Carbonation is a bit dull. Peach, citrusy, vanilla, herbal, a touch spicy hoppy flavor. Fairly sweet. SudsMcDuff (8463) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - JUN 4, 2013
call me sandy sue! .. . deep amber .. . good foam, lacing .. . thick .. oozes sweet sweet sickly hop syrup- too much .. . like drinking maple syrup, the silly people who still like dfh 120 would love this .. . . If I was a UFC fighter, my entrance music would be the Divinyls "I Touch Myself."

Like a super version of Algonquin. Dank and piney hops with a touch of citrus rind. A bit too much sweetness for my liking.

Draft at Jerry’s/Division Crawl. Amber with good, frothy, beige head, decent legs / Bright nose of cut pine, weed, citrus, caramel / Full body, malty, sweet and somewhat syrupy, big hop bite but still not quite up to the sweet malts, with bitter finish / Big flavors of caramel, toffee, orange peel, grapefruit, pineapple, cut pine / I little sweet for me as compared to the best, but still a fine brew. neepsntatties (2019) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 10, 2013
On tap at Apex Bar in Portland, OR. Colour...clear, garnet-amber with no head. Nose...redolent of hop resin and pine tar. Palate...sweeeet! More citrus than on the nose and loads of tropical fruit that allows the bite of the hops to push through. The boiled sweets amble through the palate as does some fruity frosting and it all works very well together! dinkle50 (1530) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 28, 2013
Deep red pour with a thin head. Aroma of tropical fruit. Dank. Huge mouth. Taste is sweet followed by a bitter blast at the end. Citrus and some booze. Overall a very tasty DIPA. LagerLoather (13) - Chicago - Downtown, Illinois, USA - APR 18, 2013
I have had this many times but never rated it. The most noticable characteristic is the the fresh cat pee aroma from the citra hops - love it. Also aromas of mango and grapefruit. My favorite haymarket beer.

Great mango and grapefruit aroma, tropical almost. Alcohol is incredibly hidden.
