By far my favorite Haymarket brew. Ripe, tropical fruitiness that dominates your palate with flavor. Rediculous finish to this beer, and with such a juciy finish you won’t even realize you are on your 4th serving! This beer is ranked #1 by my bowling team, as "Mathias Tuesdays" has quickly taken Chicago by storm! Troupis (252) - - MAR 24, 2016
Awesome taste with kind of amateur but complex palate so can't tell. Regardless an awesome beer with citra and hops I love. Seriously an awesome palate just not as refined which I love. Doesn't feel commercial. Hop filled.

On tap: The aroma is very fruity. Lots of tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, orange, grapefruit, and a touch of alcohol. It’s a hazy reddish-orange with a small white head that leaves behind some nice webbing for lacing. The flavor starts with tropical fruits, peach, and mango. The finish has moderate pineapple, orange, grapefruit, lemon, and a hint of alcohol. Medium-fill bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, one of the fruitiest IIPAs I’ve ever had...very tasty and way to drinkable for the abv. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 25, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 A few samplers at Haymarket. This is what we hoped for. Pours a glowing and turbid orangey-gold. Sticky froth head. Nose is fantastic and showcases the Citra very well. Mango, papaya, tangerine in the nose. A hint of biscuity malt. Luscious fruit dominates, though. On taste, big bitterness, but not astringent. It compliments the clean tropical fruit notes. More apricot and mango coming through. Makes me excited to use my Citra hops. Awesome.
Tacking on my Uber-Matthias rating. Huge tropical notes and huge catty hops, obscured sweetness. Crazy hazed. A big beer with a ton of hops, the Cascade actually pulling it’s own weight with some floral citrus on top of the catty citra hops. Pretty damn good stuff, but a bit of overload. drainey (234) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 4, 2011
Dark orangy body, small white head. Cloudy. Aroma of grapefruit and hops. Some alcohol. Delicious hoppy but slightly sweet flavor, almost a ruby red grapefruit flavor. Alcohol is apparent. Excellent beer.

Had on tap at haymarket. Poured into a goblet and pours dark orange color with a good small head.
Powerful and deep aromas of pine cones, resin, navel oranges, hops and loads of citrus and guava. There are good layers of aromas in this with the fresh hops being upfront and notable.
Full bodied with a really good and smooth feel. Not as layered, but the notes of guava, hops, pine cones and resin are still delicious.
Was offered this up as an alternative to the normal mathias by the bartender. I absolutely loved this and it is an amazing Imperial IPA. Treebs (872) - , Illinois, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Enjoyed on tap at Haymarket. Served in a 12 oz. goblet.
A: Pours a dark amber color with a white head forming on the pour. It recedes slowly leaving behind some sticky sheets of lace.
S: Piney and citrus with a malty sweetness through out. Some orange and melon notes with faint hint of resin.
T: Absolutely delicious. Bursting notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Grapefruit, orange rind, and lemon zest. Pineapple and melon with some mild grassy notes and a little piney bitterness. Great malt backbone with some sweet bread and cereal grain flavors. Both are definitely sweet.
M: Medium bodied with a sweet finish and medium carbonation level. Highly drinkable.
O: I could crush glass upon glass of this stuff. It was sweet, but I really enjoyed it and the hop profile is down right delicious.

Dark copper pour with a small white head. The aroma is amazingly hoppy. Lots of pine and tropical fruit, some herbal notes as well. The flavor follows suit, adding some sweet caramel malt that puts this on a slightly sweeter side of balance and dangerously drinkable. Wonderful IPA. TattooJack (518) - Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2014
On tap at Haymarket, started with a 4oz. while sampling then had a 12oz. Everyone at the table liked this one, me included. Great taste and high powered, a perfect pairing. This should be sold in tall boy cans throughout the greater Chicagoland area. DuffMan (10451) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 8, 2012
On tap @ the brewpub. Deep red-orange, nearly no head. Syrupy tropical fruit aroma, lots of ripe mango, passionfruit, melon. Oily body, loads of tropical fruit and crushed nettles/green grass, juicy juicy! Pithy dry bitter finish. Outstanding!
