Tap at the Brewpub, Chicago. Poured a clear chesnut brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is burnt toffee sweet. The flavour is medium bitter with a big roasted malt, liqourice, nutty, smooth alcohol, hoppy, spice palate. I really enjoyed this. shigadeyo (3797) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2013

Pleasant caramel colored dark ale brewed with raisins. Hint of brown sugar in there as well, well balanced and interesting beer. DrinkEmUpJones (1069) - Georgia, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Clear amber with light head. Very mild brown sugar aroma. Palate is very rich with nutty, caramel flavors. Very big palate, very tatsy, but definitely a colder weather beer. burg326 (5619) - Florida, USA - AUG 5, 2012
On draft at brewpub, poured an amber color with aromas of dark fruit, yeast and some booze. Flavors are the same, ok beer overall. phaleslu (10750) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2012
Pour from a growler the night before MWBBF at Perennial- thanks to the friendly Haymarket manager who shared it. Pours a cloudy tea color with no head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, brown sugar, and sweet bread. Flavor of caramel, raisins, apples, wood, and earth. Good Belgian yeast character for sure. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Nice dubbel.
