Flavor is very sweet and fruit forward. Tons of dark fruit. Brown sugar, banana, raisin, and cola. A hint of chocolate and lots of caramel. Too sweet for me. Draft sample. Poured a hazy dark amber color with an average fizzy head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sweet malt and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Good caramelized sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet smooth finish of moderate duration. Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a slightly cloudy amber color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of dark malts, fruit and yeast. Medium-bodied with flavors of bready malt, raisins and yeast. The finish is fruity with an earthy yeast aftertaste. On tap at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy amber brown with a grayish tan head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma was full of spice with some dark grains and a int of dark fruits. Flavor was similar with the same strong spice note with dark grains and bread as well as some dark fruits. The spice note was a bit strong for me. Pour from a growler the night before MWBBF at Perennial- thanks to the friendly Haymarket manager who shared it. Pours a cloudy tea color with no head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, brown sugar, and sweet bread. Flavor of caramel, raisins, apples, wood, and earth. Good Belgian yeast character for sure. On tap @ the brewpub. Medium amber, slightly hazy. Raisiny sweet aroma and flavour, with a fairly strong spiciness. Metallic note in the finish. With so many other awesome brews in this joint, it’s hard for me to like this more. Plus, at this point in the evening, my powers of perception are admittedly waning....
