Our ode to Oscar Neebe, yeast saleman, friend of the brewer and one of the three to survive the trial of the "Haymarket Eight". A straw colored Belgian ale dry-hopped with Amarillo hops. A great session ale!

On tap at Little Goat. Pours clear bronze. Flavor is dry rye with a touch of bitterness. A good, but not exceptional effort at a Belgian Style Pale Ale here. I’m not getting as much of the Belgian yeast through the hops as I would like.

This is a pretty mild and nice hoppy Belgian. It’s cloudy blond with a creamy head. Yeast character is nice and spicy and works well with the fruity hops. It’s dry and fairly full bodied with a pleasant smack of hops in the finish. This is one you can really slug down. I like it.

Pours a very hazy, bright golden orange color with banana yellow edges and a one finger white head that quickly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Decent retention with sporadic spotty lacng left behind. Earthy floral hop aroma with pale malt and light fruit esters. Grassy hops with some pine needle and sticky resins followed by strong melon sweetness and tart grapefruit. Some bready yeast with biscuit and a touch of apple and pear. The sweet melon presence is nice but otherwise the nose is kind of standard. Light body with crisp carbonation and a blast of dry bitterness that lingers over the pale malts into a dry finish. Watered down and pedestrian aside from the hop profile. Again, melon sweetness stands out along with some citrus zest, bread and light fruit esters. Mediocre.

12 oz draft pour at the brewpub in Chicago, Illinois. The pour is a slight haze golden with a smallish white head. The aroma is bright fruit hop along with fresh floral Belgian yeast. The taste is a nice blend of the fresh clean fruit hop, light cracker malt and the floral Belgian yeast spice. The palate is light bodied with active carbonation and a dry finish with Belgian yeast that lingers nicely. Nice one.

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of grass, herbal, and floral hops, slight orange, white fruit into a bit of biscuit, sweet vanilla. Taste was a mix of grass, herbs, some earth into a bit of floral, orange hops, slight white fruit, finishing with some spice, slightly bitter but pretty sweet.

A gold ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, beautiful candy sugar malt with citrus hops, floral in character, alcohol warmth. In mouth, a nice fruity malt with floral and citrusy hops, well done. On tap at brewery.

One if the better belgium pale ales I have had. Slightly fruity with a nice hop backbone. Smells lightly of fruit. Pour yellow in color. Had at haymarket ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Haymarket. Golden pour with a white head. A bit of tea, floral hops, and a bit of melon. Some pear, peaches, and a nice bready note. But, lots of sugar/caramel. Flavor is just too sweet for me. Tons of fruit and sugar notes. Big caramel, bread, and peach. Canned pears, floral hops, and a touch of tea leaf bitterness.

Tap at Haymarket. Hazy unfiltered orange-tan. Thin, steady oily white head. A really pleasant, well executed beer. Big hop and yeast tones, but a subdued malt backbone creates a smooth nice balance. Melon hop tones, maybe some amarillo. Nails it, well done.
