Our ode to Oscar Neebe, yeast saleman, friend of the brewer and one of the three to survive the trial of the "Haymarket Eight". A straw colored Belgian ale dry-hopped with Amarillo hops. A great session ale!

On tap @ Haymarket. Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma and flavor of dry hops, toasted grain, pretzel crumbs, floral, and wheat. Finish has a bit of caramel sweetness.

Sample at the brewpub. Hazy dark amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, fruit and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of fruity yeast, hops and earthy malt. The finish is malty up front with a mild citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Poured from draft at Haymarket Brewey in Chicago. Orange and clear. Sweet lemon and grass aroma. Fruit and citrus taste. Slight hops. Very good for a Belgium which I usually don't like

A very basic but thirst quenching and quaffable pale ale at a dirt cheap price.

Little to no aroma, what is there is reminiscent of Belgian ales. Good, but somewhat bland.

Going to have to assume this is what was being poured under the note "Belgian Pale " at the FoBAB documentary party on Jan. 10. Malty pale ale smell. Not much hop in the nose, but then there’s a tangy, hoppy taste to it. Like its cousins Orval and Maltida, has over savory components that set it apart from the average pale beer.

dwaggs2 (1297) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Sample from beerfest. Poured a hazy yellow color with a tiny white head that didn’t retain for very long. Aroma was some citrus hops, bubblegum, grass, and malts. Flavor was citrus, with some bread and yeast. Dry bitter in the finish. Good beer.

Ratman197 (14842) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Poured a hazy amber with a lasting creamy white head. Aromas of biscuit, fruittiness and a hint of carmel. palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of biscuit, citrus and a hint of carmel with a crisp lingering citrus finish.
