650 mL bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of tart grainy malts, mild skunk, banana, acetone. The taste is sweet grainy notes with a raw malt finish. Green banana notes with a bit of caramel. Slightly metallic finish. Thin-medium bodied. Not bad, but certainly typical of an Indian pale lager.

650ml bottle. Bright and very clear with a moderate white head. Sunrise colour with pepper in the aroma with some malt also coming through. Flavour is mildly bitter with a fair bit of bitterness and a strong alcohol kick.

bottle from Taj Mahal (local Indian restaurant) - Pours clear dark yellow/gold with a small, fizzy white head. It smells of cereal malt and corn. The flavor is sweet and a bit on the boozy side. Its acceptable but thats about it.

(bottle - 22 oz) Yellow pour with a thin white head. Aroma smells like corn and hay mixed with latex. Overly sweet and cloyingly bitter. Bitter and nasty.

Bottle. Clear golden pour with a short white head that doesnt last long. Aroma is fairly light with hints of malt, corn and rice. Flavour is a little sweet and pretty much the same as the aroma. Thin, slightly dry mouthfeel with moderate to high carbonation and a short sweet finish. Originally picked this up because I had never tried any strong Indian beers and then put off opening it for ages. Not as bad as I feared but no better than I expected.

650ml bottle. Orange, small white head. Nose has somewhat muddled malt and a little citrus. No skunk though - clearly fresh. Taste is of confused malt sweetness. Medium body. Hides its alcohol pretty well. Tastes like holidays to me, which means my expectations were not confounded and the beer recalls good times. This is much better than any of the other strong beers I tried in India and is perfectly tolerable.

Found in Bandipur, about 125km northwest of Kathmandu. Explosive pour, foam everywhere. Have to protect my cigars! Zero head after all that, nothing left after mopping up the overflow. Boring yellow. Absolutely no aroma; maybe some alcohol and corn, actually, but barely noticeable. Given the "strong lager" tag on this one maybe thats a good thing. Barely any flavour? Yes, barely any flavour. Probably lots of rice used in the mix, very smooth, no alcohol, no grains, no hops to speak of in spite of whats advertised. Good for getting drunk. Not for enjoying a brew.

Bottle brought back from Bangalore by parents. Light golden colour with minimal head. Skunky nose. Taste of malts, mainly, some paper and sweets. Hoppier finish. Not great but also not as bad as the ratings.

Can, 8% ABV
Pale blond color. Light aroma, very light citrusy touch and plastic. Dry mouthfeel, very light residual sweetness, rare for a Lager. Ordinary bitterness. Poor.
