On cask at Great British Beer Festival, day 3 on 6 August 2009. Very pale gold / straw. Lots of grassy hops on the nose. Strongly citric flavour with grapefruit and gooseberry leaf notes too. Very refreshing. I sampled dozens of golden ales at this festival - most were extremely forgettable but this one was certainly one of the most enjoyable for me.

Cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 10th Feb 2010. Clear gold. Subtle, very floral aroma with hints of wild honey. Sharp citrus hop flavour. Nice but uncompromisingly aimed at hopheads.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2010 Cask, The Flowerpot, Derby. Still gold looks with a fine halo. Sherbet and orange aroma. Has a good go at holding its own Vs the lean hoppy Abbeydale and Oakham stuff; hints of peach, lemon, not quite the freshness of malts, but some late softening biscuit. Decent.
