blatantdream (78) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JAN 23, 2005
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2005 Tap at Union Square location. My favorite of the ones I’ve tasted at Heartland. Toasted chocolate taste, dark but not very complex. Pretty straight forward lager. Smooth and refreshing.

Grumbo (2947) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - DEC 23, 2016
Part of a seasonal voyage platter at the Heartland Brewery and Chophouse, 43rd St, NYC. Pours clear bright chestnut brown with a small lasting off-white head. Aroma is roasted, syrupy, and chocolaty. Medium to heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Aroma was its highlight.

Koelschtrinker (20398) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - FEB 23, 2015
Holziger Antrunk, Karamell, in Vordergrund steht ein dumpfes Aroma, das mir überhaupt nicht gefällt. Kaum herb, dennoch unsüffig in meinem Augen. 8/7/6/8//8

Tap at Heartland, Union Square, 24/11/13. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized light beige head. Nose is cardboard, light toffee, fruity notes, toasted malt. Taste comprises toffee, light cocoa, straw, berry fruit light. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale - crisp and clean. Ok - a little overly sweet though.

jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Draft. Pours reddish brown with off white head. Nose and taste of toast, candied black malt, light fruit and touch of smoky chocolate. Lighter medium body.

scarletfire65 (1466) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Aroma of citrus, marshmallow, roasted malt. Thin, watery palate. High carbonation. Medicinal aftertase. Meh.

Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 1, 2011
Draught sample. Pours dark brown with a white head. Smells roasty with some citrussy hints. Tastes of watery chocolate, some earthy hints, some peppery hints on the finish.

Bierkrug (2129) - - DEC 4, 2009
UPDATED: JUN 18, 2011 On tap in USA. Black color, little head. Malty aroma. Malty mess. Palate is malty and coco. This is the typical Ice Cream flavored brewery stuff. Not good at all.

blipp (9275) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 30, 2009
Draft at the midtown location. Dark brown with a beige head. Lightly sweet aroma with some roasty notes. The flavor is roasty as well, with a light caramel sweetness. Pretty good.

zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 9, 2009
Tap: pours dark red/brown. Arouma of chocolate and prunes. Disappointingly thin mouthfeel. Nice chocolate and caramel malts. Finishes with an alcohol and bitter kick.

Dredd (939) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JAN 2, 2009
Sweet molasses nose, ruby-black colour with tan head. Flavour is a mix of molasses, coffee and some malt sweetness. The palate on this is quite full and the finish is a long mix of the molasses and bitterness. Well made beer
