3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Heartland in Union Square with Haeberle, Lauck and Goffman.
I really enjoyed the Heartland Empire State Premium. I think it is one of the best beers made by Heartland and would order again. Hazy yellow color with a light but intriguing aroma. The bitter hops are nicely balanced with sweet malts leading to a nice clean finish.
Tapped out clear gold. 5ºSRM.
Nose is lager.
Mouthfeel is beery. Palate is very strong pale malt. Hop flavors are noble. Well balanced. mzaar (3742) - Varberg, SWEDEN - OCT 22, 2016
Fat @ Heartland, Empire State Bldg. Klar guldfärgad med ett stort och långvarigt vitt skum. Dofter av malt och gräs. Smakinslag av malt, honung, frukt och gräs. Härlig fräschör i munnen. Något torr avslutning, rund munkänsla. Mycket bra (för att vara en lager)! Frank (4258) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 30, 2016
Not really a pils but a tasty lager so who cares. It’s clear with a white head. It’s got a nice floral malt character to it. It’s mild and pleasant, a little sweet and syrupy but not overbearing. Drinking this stuff all day would get a bit heavy but a glass is really pretty nice. yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 12, 2015
On tap at Heartland, Empire State, NYC. A clear, golden beer with a dense, white head. The aroma is lightly malty, with some fruityness and grass. There’s a decent bitterness in the mouth, it’s dry and medium bodied with a nice carbonation. Pale malts in the back, with grass and a generic fruityness in the flavor. Medium length finish. Superbly boring, but quite well brewed. 150624 StueyD (1586) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2015
A pale golden coloured beer with a weak white head. A strong malty aroma, honeyed and breakfast cereal and just a hint of spice. Dry mouthfeel. The taste is dry and malty, biscuity and cereal with a background honeyed sweetness. The finish is dry and malty. Draught @ Heartland Brewery, 8th St. New York.

Süß bitterer Antrunk, steigende Getreidigkeit. Die leichte Trockenheit passt, konstant bitter und etwas grasig. Gut. 9/11/11/11//11 slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 6, 2014
actually thought it was quite good, especially for the style. a pale czech lager, crisp, very well balanced...one i’d actually consider buying in the bottle."

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy golden yellow color. Bar pour yielded no head. There was a fair amount of carbonation seen rising.
The smell didn’t have much other than some light sweet corn.
The taste was mainly sweet.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it.
Overall, mainly a decent pale lager. Block (3222) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 5, 2014
This beer is pretty pathetic. Light, pale, flavorless. It has it’s place as a refresher on a hot New York afternoon. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - JUN 27, 2014
On draught at the brewpub on 8th Ave by the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Arrived to the table a clear gold color with a thin white head that lasted beyond the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Mild aroma grain with a faint hint of grassy hops. The flavor is bready malt with again just a slight hint of grassy hops. Smooth on the palate with very mild bitterness at the finish. No problems.
