3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Union Square location. Pretty decent stout but what makes this an "oatmeal" stout not just a stout? I don’t taste much of a unique oat taste. Chocolaty, dry and malty toasted flavors. Full bodied.
Part of a seasonal voyage platter at the Heartland Brewery and Chophouse, 43rd St, NYC. Pours almost black with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is syrupy, chocolate, toffee and molasses. Moderate sweetness, quite heavy bitterness. Full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation. Syrupy finish. R4N5H (1182) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 14, 2016
On tap at the brewpub on 43rd St, NYC on 11-Nov-2016. Hazy golden amber colour with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of cocoa, sweet malt and spices. Medium body and soft carbonation. Taste of toasted malt, chocolate, coffee and nutmeg. Bittersweet finish. A so-so stout. mzaar (3443) - Varberg, SWEDEN - OCT 22, 2016
Fat @ Heartland, Empire State Bldg. Nästan svart med ett beigt gräddigt skum. Mycket tjusigt. Dofter av mörk choklad, espresso och trä. Smakinslag av choklad, rågbröd och röda bär. Mycket torr munkänsla. jandd1983 (4317) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - OCT 6, 2016
On tap at the brewpub. It poured an almost black color with a tan head. The aroma was of coffee and chocolate. The taste was similar to the aroma with more coffee, chocolate and some malts. Not bad. two7offsuit (448) - Massachusetts, USA - APR 28, 2016

Aroma is sweet malts. Taste is creamy with a roasted malt and slight chocolate. Overall just OK. tombyars (1702) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 9, 2015
Tasted this at the Heartland Brewery, 8th Street New York on the 20th September 2015. Keg, nitro dispense in a pint glass. Dull black in colour with a pale creamy buff head. Roast coffee notes present in the malty aroma, intensifies as it warms up. Creamy smooth mouthfeel and excellent lacing. Dark malts give a moist maltloaf base with distinct notes of black coffee, liquorice and plain chocolate. Slight dusty hop prickle noted in the brief aftertaste. Finish is malty with dark chocolate, black coffee, ash and burnt toast full in the mouth. Very easy to drink despite the 6% ABV. airrick2003 (872) - Louisiana, USA - OCT 7, 2015
Appearance: pours with a creamy light tan head that gradually transitions to the beer, the beer is a brown color with hues of light passing thru
Aroma: strong coffee,
Taste: coffee, chocolate, bitter,
Palate: very full creamy mouthfeel, light bitter aftertaste,
Overall: this is a nitro pour from the brewery, pretty good basic stout, lots of coffee and nice mouthfeel from the stout

On tap at Heartland, Empire State, NYC. A dark one, almost black, with a creamy, light tan head on top. The aroma is roasted and coffee-ish, with some licorice. Rather boring and uninteresting, but not foul. There’s some sourish notes in the flavor, some berries too, but it’s mostly roasted malts. Full to medium body, smooth and with some acidity. Not much of the sweetness promised. Overall, a decent beer, but too acidic for me. 150624 StueyD (1583) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2015
A pitch black coloured beer with a thick tan coloured head. A strong aroma of roasted malt, loads of coffee and dark chocolate. Medium mouthfeel. The taste is a smooth and bittersweet, dry roasted coffee, nutty, then a smooth creamy chocolatey flavour in the end. The finish starts off dry and nutty then the sweet chocolate flavour comes through. Draught @ Heartland Brewery, 8th St. New York.
