Pours cloudy deep gold with a white head. Aroma is earthy, herbal and citrus. Taste was sweeter then expected with some spicy undertones. Medium bodied. tgncc (3140) - Bellmore, New York, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Found some old notes on thi. Back in the day, they used to sell these in 750 ml bottles, as well as have it available on draft. The aroma is toasted malt, lemon, bread. The appearance is an orange gold color, white head, lots of foam. The flavor is like the aroma, a little more light fruits like banana, peach. Medium/thin in body. Lots of carbonation. At the time I wrote these notes, I didn’t realize I was drinking a saison. Actually, my notes don’t really seem to reflect this either. Anyway, I liked this enough at the time. Tap at the Empire State location. Cloudy golden-yellow pour topped by a thick, creamy white head. The nose has a very earthy malt profile and the yeast has thrown an incredible amount of DMS into the beer. The yeast has a little bit of spiciness but the beer still has a lot of residual sweetness and a wheaty sort of thickness that just isn’t appropriate in anything calling itself a saison. Very wheaty/creamy but the beer is incredibly dirty and underattenuated. In addition the sweetness and wheatiness the beer also comes across quite worty. Man, there’s not a whole lot right here. blipp (9590) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 30, 2010
Draft. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Flowery and lemony aroma, like chamomile almost. The flavor has spicy, flowery, and herbal notes, with a medium dry finish. Decent.
